THE INTERVIEW

Daniele Cerizzi
CEO
How did 2025 go, and what achievements did you celebrate at the end of the year?
2025 was a very positive year, both in terms of revenue and internal organization. Globally, we closed the year with solid results, particularly in extrusion. In Italy, we completed an important milestone: the purchase of the new office in Sesto San Giovanni, where W&H Italia will relocate in 2026.
Which of your technologies are most appreciated by the market?
The trends of recent years continue: bag-making lines, printing machines, and solutions for mono-material solutions remain among the most popular technologies. There is also growing demand for lean, intuitive, fast and easy-to-operate machines, as production batches are shrinking and customers seek efficiency, flexibility, and operational simplicity.
Which projects did you launch in 2026, and what new developments can you share?
2026 begins in the wake of K 2025, an event that brought us a large number of visitors and significant commercial results. For the first time, we presented daily live demonstrations with an installed extruders and printing presses, alongside Garant, demonstrating strong synergy across the group companies.
Regulations, sustainability, and cost increases: how is your company responding?
Sustainability remains a top priority. We continue to develop solutions to make the processing of monomaterials more efficient, both in extrusion – with advancements related to MDO – and in printing. At the same time, we are working to adapt our machines to the new safety regulations scheduled for 2027.
Training new professionals: how do you support customers and internal recruitment?
Training has always been central to W&H. Our Academy, active for over ten years, is a hub for both internal training and training for customers. All employees follow structured programs, supported by digital training platforms. In recruitment, we value internal expertise while remaining open to new professionals.
What role do trade fairs play in driving the development of new services and products?
Trade fairs remain an essential meeting point. Although new products can now be presented via digital channels, on-site visits, or open houses, events like K 2025 and Interpack 2026 are invaluable for gathering feedback, engaging with customers, and better understanding their future needs.
THE PRODUCTS
Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) is a leading German manufacturer of flexible packaging machinery, with a product portfolio covering three main areas: extrusion, printing and converting.
Extrusion
W&H offers lines for the production of blown and cast film, used to produce mono- and multilayer materials for food, industrial and agricultural packaging. The lines also include stretching units, winders and automation and assistance.
Printing
For the printing sector W&H produces central drum flexo presses (CI Flexo Presses), gravure presses and has already unveiled its next digital press. These solutions are designed to guarantee high print quality on various materials, including paper and plastic films – both in long runs with speeds up to 800m/min and short runs with very agile machines.
Converting
For converting, W&H supplies machinery for the production of industrial bags, paper and plastic pouches and Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) packaging systems. These include the TOPAS series, recognized for its efficiency in packaging bulk materials, with a capacity of up to 2,400 bags per hour.
Innovation and sustainability
W&H constantly invests in research and development to promote sustainable solutions. Through collaborations with partners such as ExxonMobil, the company has developed packaging containing up to 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, while maintaining high mechanical and optical performance. In addition, the RUBY IoT system allows real-time monitoring of production lines, improving efficiency and reducing waste, introducing and continuing to develop digital solutions. With its innovation- and quality-oriented philosophy, Windmöller & Hölscher continues to represent a benchmark in the flexible packaging industry, offering advanced and sustainable solutions for the needs of the global market.
