Which of your technologies are currently most appreciated by the market?
Our portfolio for the printing and packaging industry ranges from tesa® Softprint solutions for plate mounting to tesa® EasySplice for flying splices, a technology that recently celebrated 25 years on the market. In addition, for the corrugated industry we offer adhesive solutions for the design and production of corrugated boxes, which have recently returned to the spotlight thanks to the development of more sustainable, 100% paper-based alternatives that are helping to reshape the segment. These are complemented by additional products — such as edge-sealing tapes, core mounting tapes and roll-closing solutions — designed to support printers and converters by simplifying operations throughout the entire production process.
Which projects have you launched in 2026 and what new developments can you share?
Our mission is clear: to create sustainable adhesive solutions that improve our customers’work, products and everyday lives. With a team of 600 experts including chemists, engineers and developers, we create around 100 new solutions every year for industries ranging from automotive and electronics to printing and packaging.
The 2026 pipeline for our Printing & Packaging Solutions division includes the launch of tesa® Softprint Secure, a new cushioning range designed to provide improved holding power during mounting, prevent edge lifting and facilitate plate removal, including in solvent-based inks environments.
In corrugated packaging, we are also expanding our portfolio of paper tapes for opening, sealing and reinforcement applications, making our offering more flexible and increasingly targeted to market needs.
What role do trade fairs play in driving the development of new services and products?
At tesa, we believe that trade fairs continue to represent a key reference for showcasing technologies, meeting customers and partners, and identifying the main trends shaping the market. For this reason, we are planning our future participation well in advance: we have confirmed our presence at Print4ALL and LOUPE 2027 and are already laying the groundwork for DRUPA 2028, which for us represents the industry’s flagship event and the key meeting point for the entire sector.
THE PRODUCTS
The goal of tesa’s Printing & Packaging Solutions Business Unit is to provide high quality, efficient, and increasingly sustainable adhesive solutions for printers, corrugators, and converters. The main application areas include plate mounting solutions, design tapes for the corrugated board process, and tapes for material splicing, both static and flying.
Within plate mounting solutions, we focus on the broad range of our portfolio, which is the most comprehensive in the industry. Thanks to the variety of liners, backings, adhesives, and foams in the tesa® Softprint plate mounting tape range, we are able to meet every specific printing requirement.
For the corrugated board sector, our paper based solutions for box opening, closing, and reinforcement take center stage. Made from FSC® certified paper, these solutions integrate perfectly with packaging, enabling the creation of monomaterial solutions and simplifying the recycling process.
Our paper tapes have successfully passed the CEPI and Ingede test methods conducted by the German PTS institute, confirming their recyclability without the need for separation from the cardboard.
Finally, we offer a range of solutions for film and paper converting, with a particular focus on tesa® EasySplice, our reliable line of flying splice tapes. Thanks to their reliability and ease of use, our tapes enable continuous and efficient production, reducing machine downtime and optimizing overall productivity.
In addition to the core packaging applications, tesa also provides a wide range of products that make life easier for printers and converters, such as static splicing tapes, core starting and end tabbing tapes, the Printer’s Friends range for roller protection, tapes to prevent plate edge lifting, packaging tapes, and much more.
