How would you briefly describe the past year?
2025 closed on a positive note for Chimica CBR: overall volumes increased by 5%. Looking specifically at the Graphics Division, which includes solutions for offset and flexographic printing, growth reached double digits. In the offset segment alone, we exceeded 20% growth, confirming that our commercial investments and research and development activities are delivering the expected results.
What trends will drive your activities in 2026?
Our strategy is first and foremost focused on consolidating our position in the flexographic market, a sector where we are already well established. Another objective is to increase market penetration of our offset product range.
We will also continue strengthening the internationalisation of our sales operations by expanding our distribution network in foreign markets: in Western Europe, by further developing markets such as France, Portugal and Spain; in Eastern European countries and also in Northern Europe, where our presence offers significant growth opportunities.
What needs are emerging from your dialogue with customers and prospects?
Our constant interaction with our reference markets enables us to adapt our offering to our customers’ actual operational needs. A good example is the expansion of the new offset product range introduced in 2024 and further consolidated in 2025, which recorded particularly significant growth. Previously, 85% of our offset business was concentrated in alcohol substitutes and wash-up solvents. Today, thanks to a comprehensive portfolio, we can offer more technical and higher-quality solutions, such as fountain solution additives and prepress chemicals. In addition, by working directly with selected strategic customers, we have also strengthened our position in silicones, which represent a significant segment of our market.
THE PRODUCTS
Another key development for Chimica CBR in 2025 was the organisation of its product offering into two separate catalogues, designed to address the specific operational requirements of the two main printing technologies: offset printing and flexographic printing. Each portfolio includes a comprehensive range of chemical products for prepress and pressroom applications, designed to stabilise processes, optimise performance, and maintain efficiency and cleanliness throughout production.
OFFSET CATALOGUE
Fountain Solution Additives and Process Management Products
The Offset Catalogue includes categories dedicated to process control, starting with dampening solution additives for sheetfed offset printing, including Silverfount Plus for high-speed presses, certified by ISEGA, as well as solutions for web offset printing such as Silverfount Web HS. Alongside these products is the range of isopropyl alcohol substitutes, including Silverchem IPA 100, an ISEGA-certified denatured isopropyl alcohol exempt from UTF regulations.
Wash-Up Products and Maintenance Solutions
The catalogue includes wash-up solvents for both manual and automatic use, featuring products certified by Fogra and ISEGA, as well as UV wash-up solvents formulated for use with UV and UV LED inks. The maintenance range also includes blanket rejuvenators, specialty products for coating systems (both water-based acrylic and UV), web offset silicones, and auxiliary products for everyday operations such as colour changes, fountain solution circulation system cleaning, anti-foaming agents, anti-drying agents, and more.
Prepress Chemicals
The offering is completed by a comprehensive prepress range, including developers and regenerators for CTP and CtCTP offset plates such as Silverdev Universal and Silverdev Premium, gums and cleaners for plate protection, activation and storage.
FLEXO CATALOGUE
Solvent-Based Ink Dilution Blends
Within the Flexo Catalogue, the core section is dedicated to solvent management, featuring binary and ternary blends designed for the dilution of solvent-based flexographic inks, available with different evaporation rates and application configurations. The range also includes acetates, retarders and diluents for polyamide inks.
Technical Solvents, System Cleaning and Photopolymer Plate Processing
The portfolio is completed by a dedicated solvent section, including cleaning solvents, as well as specialty products for flexographic systems, particularly solutions for anilox cleaning and maintenance and products designed for use in ultrasonic cleaning units. The catalogue also includes a range of photopolymer plate processing solvents, developed for the washing and processing of solvent-based plates, with particular attention to process continuity and final print quality.
