THE INTERVIEW

FELICE ROSSINI
PRESIDENT
How was 2025 and which Rossini S.p.A. technologies were most appreciated by the market?
2025 was extremely positive, particularly due to the record sales of Plate Sleeves and Flexographic Carriers.
Which projects have you launched in 2026 and what new developments can you share?
In 2026 we kicked off numerous and highly technological projects, to be completed in 2027. We discuss them on the next page where we present our most remarkable products.
Regulations and rising costs are creating market tensions and management difficulties: how does your company respond to these challenges?
By reducing costs and increasing production capacity.
Training and new professionals: how do you support your customers and what is your approach to internal recruiting?
In a very concrete way. In 2026, Rossini introduced six young engineers from the Politecnico di Milano into its group. In the same strategic approach, we also scaled up the Group’s foreign plants: three engineers enhanced the U.S. production site, one was hired in Barcelona, one in the Timisoara plant, and one in the Milan plant.
What role do trade fairs play in driving the development of new services and products?
With the rise of the Open House era organized by manufacturers and their suppliers, trade fairs have certainly become less important than they used to be in the past, when they were practically the only opportunity to showcase new products and bring supply and demand together. However, they remain key reference points for industry communities, and participating is still a demonstration of commitment to the market.
THE PRODUCTS
Rossini S.p.A. continues its evolution in the development of worldwide patented new sleeves for both flexo and gravure printing, already showcased at several trade fairs. These new solutions are currently under testing at major printers to confirm their final quality and reliability and will soon be launched on the market.
These are the latest milestones added to a portfolio that has established itself as the market benchmark for quality, precision and productivity. Three application areas, among others, provide clear examples:
- Gravure and Lamination, served by the technological excellence of the renowned Speedwell sleeves, alongside the well-known Everstat and Starcoat Light lines.
- Flexographic Printing, where top-performance solutions such as Carbobridge and Fastbridge carriers are established reference products (Fastbridge was awarded the prestigious innovation prize by FTA-USA in 2025).
- Heatset Offset Printing, revolutionized by the high-precision Leonardo Gapless Sleeve, supported by mandrels and rollers developed using the most advanced mechanical engineering technologies.
Research, Development and the green revolution of 3D printing
The true driver of Rossini S.p.A.’s success is its R&D department, constantly engaged in redefining industry standards through exclusive patents and breakthrough projects in the circular economy perspective.
Highlights include:
- ECOFLEX 3D, the new exclusive flexographic plate sleeve. Manufactured as a single-material component through a unique patented 3D printing process, it combines unmatched lightness with outstanding structural strength, ensuring full recyclability at end of life. This sleeve is a worldwide patent.
- ECOGRAV, the pioneering project set to revolutionize gravure printing. Designed to go beyond the current state of the art and replace traditional copper and chromium-based printing cylinders, offering an ecological and high-performance alternative.
Ultra-high modulus carbon fiber: uncompromising performance
Rossini’s new mandrels and carriers in high-modulus carbon fiber reshape the future of flexography. These components ensure previously unimaginable performance, certified and 100% guaranteed through rigorous quality control via industrial CT scanning performed directly at the Rossini Spain facility.
