Miraclon will host an Open House at our Flexo HUB in Brussels in Q3 2025, inviting visitors to learn more about the latest innovations from Miraclon and how FLEXCEL Solutions unlock their path to modern flexo.

ESG (environmental, social and governance sustainability) criteria are increasingly at the center of companies’ development strategies, what actions have you put in place in this regard?

Miraclon places a high priority on sustainability, but also on being a responsible supplier, partner and employer. We have a robust environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda that is committed to serving its employees, customers and stakeholders.

Miraclon has two key areas of sustainability focus:

• On products and services, including a future technology innovation roadmap that enables customers to reduce the carbon footprint and environmental impact of printed packaging production.
• Reducing our own environmental footprint internally, including a commitment to reducing the impact of our plate manufacturing plants and distribution operations.

We also recently joined the Consortium for Waste Circularity (CWC) – the printing and packaging industry authority on circularity of all waste – and our team will play an active role in extending the possibilities with waste recycling to keep it from landfills.

Critical issues=opportunities: what are the critical issues that you have encountered (or that your clients have shared with you) on which you have built valuable solutions for the industry?

While the packaging printing industry will continue to face a variety of challenges this year, including competitive and cost pressures, growing sustainability requirements, skilled labor shortages and new regulations, the future for flexo looks bright. There is therefore still considerable potential to benefit from the business opportunities for flexo printing in the years to come.

It is important for flexo printers to take advantage of modern flexo practices, which means implementing a standardized, sustainable, resource-saving manufacturing process that does not require frequent human intervention and is largely enabled by our differentiated FLEXCEL NX plate technology, which reduces press set-up times, unscheduled press stops, and the number of inks required to print each job.

FLEXCEL NX System

The renowned FLEXCEL NX System delivers consistently accurate 1:1 image reproduction based on patented imaging technology and includes imager, laminator, and FLEXCEL NX Central Software. It is available in five different configurations and supports printers’ choice of three plate types – solvent, water-wash and corrugated.

The FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution provides the same proven performance enabled by the FLEXCEL NX System, with the added benefit of solvent-free and VOC-free plate processing. Built for high volume plate production, it delivers press-ready plates in less than an hour, and is easy to operate and maintain.
