THE INTERVIEW

Federico Noli

Federico Noli

Regional Market Segment Manager Printing & Packaging Solutions

In a market context such as the current one, what were the main challenges you faced in 2024 and what were the most important objectives achieved?

In a changing market scenario, especially with the shift towards sustainability, our challenge has been to support our customers in this path, with solutions increasingly adapted to their needs while maintaining the same quality they were accustumed to.

What product lines are you working on that you intend to promote as a priority over the next year?

We will introduce several innovations in 2025, both in the flexographic printing and corrugated cardboard sectors. Among the main ones, a new paper-based tear tape, present at Print4ALL, thinner than the previous solution launched two years ago and well received by the market, for an even more efficient and sustainable opening of packages.

What services or activities have you planned for 2025 to engage and gain customer loyalty?

This year we are investing in strategic trade fairs such as Print4ALL and Labelexpo, as well as offline and online events, to strengthen the dialogue with printers and brand owners, understand the needs of the market and develop new solutions for the challenges posed by the sector.

ESG criteria are increasingly at the centre of companies’ development strategies, what are the actions you have taken in this regard?

tesa aims for a sustainable future, with over 100 more sustainable adhesive solutions every year. Our environmental commitment is confirmed by the EcoVadis Gold awards received in 2024 and A-score CDP in 2023, milestones that attest to our continuous investments in innovation and ecological responsibility.

Criticality=opportunity: what are the critical issues that you have found on which you have built valuable solutions for the sector?

We are very attentive to the messages that come from the market, from our customers and partners, so as to try to predict future trends and critical issues and anticipate the times to come with the most suitable solutions to face the new scenarios. For example, in the corrugated sector, the growing focus on sustainability and monomaterial packaging has led us to develop an assortment of paper-based solutions for opening, closing and reinforcement. These solutions, which are entirely recyclable along with the packaging they are applied to, offer a more sustainable alternative without compromising on performance.

THE PRODUCTS

At Print4ALL 2025, tesa focus on three main areas of application: plate mounting solutions, corrugated board design tapes and splicing tapes, both static and flying.

As part of the solutions for plate mounting, we highlight the wide range of our assortment, the most complete in the industry. Thanks to the variety of liners, backings, adhesives and foams in the tesa® Softprint assortment of plate mounting tapes, we can meet every specific need in the printing arena. In addition, there is also tesa® Twinlock, our innovative self-adhesive, compressible and reusable sleeve. This solution represents the most sustainable alternative for plate mounting, completely eliminating the use and waste of adhesive tapes and liners during production. With tesa® Twinlock, printers can achieve their sustainability goals without compromising on the quality of the final print.

For the corrugated cardboard sector, our paper-based solutions for opening, closing and reinforcing boxes are the absolute protagonists. Made with FSC® certified paper, these solutions seamlessly integrate with packaging, enabling the creation of mono-material solutions and simplifying the recycling process. Our paper-based tapes have successfully passed the CEPI and Ingede Method tests, conducted by the German Institute PTS, confirming their suitability for recycling, without the need for separation from the cardboard. In addition, to strengthen our involvement in the corrugated cardboard supply chain, we are sponsoring and actively participating in the Corrugated Experience event, a panel entirely dedicated to the sector within Print4ALL.

Finally, we present our range of film and paper converting solutions, with a focus on tesa® EasySplice, our reliable line of flying splicing tapes. Thanks to their reliability and ease of use, our tapes allow continuous and efficient production, reducing downtime and optimising overall productivity.

At Print4ALL 2025, tesa confirms its commitment to offering innovative and sustainable solutions, contributing to the evolution of the sector with high quality products and cutting-edge technologies.
