THE INTERVIEW

Francesco Sorbera

Francesco Sorbera

Managing Director

In today’s market environment, what were the main challenges you faced in 2024 and what were the most important goals you achieved?

The most important goal we achieved in 2024 is certainly that of having succeeded in entering (for us) new markets thanks to the last drupa. Thanks to this trade fair we have in fact concluded very satisfying sales with the United States, the Middle East and South America.

Which product lines are you working on and which do you intend to promote as a priority in the coming year?

Top priority will be our flagship product, the Phoenix® glue plotter. In fact, we have decided to focus on ensuring that this will continue to keep up with the requirements dictated by a constantly evolving market. We are talking about innovations in both structural and software terms, but I prefer not to reveal too many details!

What services or activities do you have planned for 2025 to engage and retain your customers?

For us, 2025 will be the year of Print4All, an exhibition event that has always been dear to us. In fact, it will be an opportunity to meet again with most of our customers and present them with the innovations I mentioned earlier and, why not, discuss with them their evolving production needs. Trade fairs have always been a place to meet and exchange ideas, and that is why F Service is always very happy to participate. We look forward to seeing you from 27 to 30 May in Hall 11, Stand L11 M14: we will be happy to show you the excellence of our gluing.

Criticality=opportunity: what are the critical issues you have encountered on which you have built valuable solutions for the industry?

The construction and evolution of our gluing plotters has always been characterised by a strong synergy between us and our customers. Our success stems precisely from this, from being able to listen to our customers and treasure the requests and observations they make to us, so that we can turn any critical issues into opportunities.

THE PRODUCTS

PHOENIX®

It was created to automate the gluing of display units, display stands, crowners and pall boxes. Its strength lies in its versatility; the simplicity of programming makes it perfect to fit immediately into the gluing department without having to disrupt its structure, as it is possible to carry out installation and train operators in just one day.

The gluing department of a company is at the end of a process that starts with the design of the display unit, passes through printing and cutting, and only at the end comes packaging with the actual gluing, so all the delays that accumulate during the various previous processes affect the assembly stage. To help counteract these delays, we have made the F SERVICE software simple to programme, ensuring that it is quick and efficient in organising the work, particularly when it comes to communicating timescales to the operators. This helps to optimise the workflow.

Phoenix makes it possible to make up for delays in previous stages of production, improve the quality of the product offered to customers, and, very importantly, predict timescales accurately right from the design stage .

Its software can be installed on any PC, and thanks to it, it will be possible to manage the quote for the gluing process even before putting it on the plotter, so that all costs can be kept under control.

COLIBRÌ

The Colibrì 140 was created in 2014 to meet the needs of customers seeking a glue plotter suitable for compact spaces.

It is a versatile cutter as it can operate on three free sides and is much more cost-effective as it only has two motors. We then added to it the larger model, the Colibrì 200, which has a 200×100 cm footprint and the option of using one or two tall elevators with a 100x100cm format.

Its versatility makes it perfect for all gluing applications, from small runs of 50, 100, 200 pieces to much larger production batches.

Both models are used to glue cases, boxes with snap-lock bottoms, boxes of various types, display units, display stands and much more. They are suitable to supplement or replace automatic folding-gluing machine lines.
