Successful trade fair presentation of the Durst Tau 330 UV-Inkjet Printer System with a large variety of configurations and integration options as well as new workflow functions.

Durst, the specialist for industrial inkjet applications can look back on a highly successful LabelExpo 2015. Durst presented its latest developments in the product portfolio for the Label & Package Printing segment with the slogan “Tau 330 – Configure Your Digital Future Today”. Meanwhile, the successful Tau 330 UV Inkjet Printer System has been integrated into the production process of more than 50 companies.

The LabelExpo 2015 provided a great opportunity for Durst to gain new customers, such as Adesa from France, while the UK based company The Label Makers used the trade fair platform to order their second Tau 330. In addition to the individual configurability and the industrial scaling, a lot of attention was focused on the fully automated integration of the Tau 330 with third party solutions. A comprehensive range of options was displayed by the print service provider Printum. Their stand was equipped with a 30 meter production line, consisting of a Tau 330 and a number of conventional finishing solutions.

And to start the 330E makes its debut. In contrast to this industrial scale end-to-end set-up was Durst’s introduction of the Tau 330E at the LabelExpo, which paves the way for small- and medium-sized companies to enter into digital production. This entry-level model is priced at 35% below the top version, but features the identical print quality and productivity. It comes as a stand-alone printer system, equipped with up to 5 colors. Durst has also developed new highly-pigmented UV-inks for the economical Tau 330E, which reduce ink consumption by up to 25%. Tau 330 E is provided with new high pigmentation UV inks and can be configured to a width of 200 or 330 mm, with 4 (CMYK) or 5 (CMYK + W) colors. It reaches 48 m/min and allows a choice between the standard 720×360 dpi print and 720×1260 dpi.

New optimisation software. Durst also addressed the issue of workflow optimization and presented its own Image Processing Software to enable Direct Order Processing and Print Data Control via a web browser, to ensure a rapid coordination and allow for decentralized production processes.
«Our Tau 330 has fully managed to bring the inkjet-technology on par with other production methods», says Helmuth Munter, Segment Manager, Durst Label & Package Printing. «We already provide an almost unrivaled configurability and scaling today, we don’t make any compromises with regards to our print quality and productivity, we open up new business areas, such as primary packaging for our customers, we simplify workflow processes and assist our global customer base with any necessary service or support they require. Digital production in the Label & Package Printing segment is not a pie in the sky. It is a reality and we are making it happen».
