Newsworthy the thanks addressed to Italian State Television by the Consorzio Italiano Scatolifici, the private organization made up of corrugated packaging manufacturers headquartered in Milan.

A bit because the thanks was directed to an investigative program – Report – often the object of complaint or worse from Italian industry, and in part due to the unusual topic.
Last October 5th Report in fact dealt with the harmful substances “hidden” in takeaway pizza boxes, sensitizing public awareness and industry professionals as to the use, unfortunately widespread, of unsuitable containers. Many of the lidded trays in circulation in fact are produced using recycled cardboard contaminated with potentially harmful pollutants (typically, non-food inks). The law, the journalists also reminded us, requires the use of cardboard made from pure cellulose in concordance with the hygienic rulings prescribed by national regulations.
