Three years of collaboration between Bestack and the University of Bologna have led to significant conclusions about the use of corrugated cardboard as a packaging of fresh foods.

In a nutshell, the study provides information on the microbiological quality of corrugated cardboard packaging and about the effects on the product contained, showing that its use in the marketing of fresh fruit is an advantage in terms of lower microbial transfer,  increasing the shelf-life and reducing food waste, both in industry and at home by the consumer.The research “Effect of packing materials on the shelf-life of packaged fruit: how to improve product quality and reduce food waste” are available on the website
