CERM Will Join LOUPE Americas 2026 and Release CERM Tempo, Enhanced Scheduling Functionality for Label, Flexible Packaging, and Folding Carton
Efficient production scheduling is essential for label and packaging converters to maximize machine utilization, reduce setup times, and meet increasingly demanding customer delivery expectations. As production environments become more complex, schedulers need tools that can quickly evaluate production constraints and generate the most efficient production plan.
CERM, the leading provider of Management Information System (MIS) software for the label and packaging industries, will demonstrate the latest developments of its CERM Tempo during LOUPE Americas 2026. The browser-based Tempo is fully integrated with the MIS and uses rule-based automation and a scoring system to prioritize and optimize production schedules based on the production requirements of each converter.
Intuitive UI, Powerful Scheduling Engine Performance
At the heart of the application is a powerful optimization engine that allows converters to define scheduling rules using standard MIS data, custom fields, and company-specific production parameters. Rules can be configured to minimize switch-over times, prioritize specific customer orders, balance workloads across similar production equipment, or optimize according to individual business requirements. The scheduler can assign values to each of these rules to run simulations and determine the best scheduling outcome.
Once configured, Tempo automatically schedules complete production jobs within seconds. Whenever new orders are entered, priorities change, or production conditions are updated; the application dynamically recalculates the production schedule, providing the scheduler with an optimized overview of the complete production chain. Because the application evaluates multiple scheduling scenarios automatically from a single platform, production schedulers spend less time manually adjusting schedules and switching between different reporting tools and more time managing exceptions and supporting production. The result is improved visibility, more consistent planning decisions, and better utilization of the production infrastructure.
The CERM Tempo at LOUPE
Visitors to LOUPE Americas can see the Tempo in action at the CERM booth (#3419), with live demonstrations showing how rule-based automation can simplify production planning, improve efficiency, and give schedulers greater control over day-to-day operations.
CERM will also present Lexis, its cloud-based AI platform that turns incoming customer emails into validated CERM sales orders, alongside enhanced quality management and traceability capabilities that bring digital quality checks and enhanced production traceability directly into the workflow.
Also on display will be Smart BI Enterprise, the latest evolution of CERM’s business intelligence solution. Its new architecture allows customers to combine the Smart BI data model with external data sources and introduces a completely redesigned set of standard reports, together with automatic data model translations.
